Week 10 - 27.17 miles

27.17 miles in three days.  I was traveling this week which made it hard to run.  Well I let my traveling interfere with my training.  I feel like it set me back.  Don’t stop, Keep Running!

Week 9 - 30.22 miles

Sorry I’m a day late this week.  Last week was a good week.  I set a new PB for the 10k 45:12 and had a felt pretty good all week.  I bought a pair of Mizuno running shoes and I started breaking them in this week.  This is the first pair of Mizuno that I have owned and I will keep you updated on what I think.  I hope you all had a good week and are achieving your goals.  Keep Running!

February 2012 - 136.32 miles

February was a good month.  I ran my first 5k since high school (which was a very long time ago) and placed 3rd in my age division.  I registered for my first 10k and half marathon.  I was able to stay relatively healthy this month and injury free.  I am a little disappointed because I came up just .75 of a mile short of hitting 250 miles for the year.  Oh well that will happen tomorrow.  Also I weighed in today and I have lost 13 pounds since January 1st. :)  I hope March is half as good as February…Keep Running!

Week 8 - 27.07 miles

Not a bad week but I was only able to run four days.  I need to do better this week and my goal is to get in six days of running.  I feel I need to step it up a little as I may be running a half marathon in April.  The original plan was to run a 10k first but I may be changing it up a little to do a half marathon in April, 10k in May, and another half in July.  Hmmm?  Whether your a gazelle or a lion just Keep Running!

Introducing NIKE FLYKNIT

(Source: youtube.com)

Nike Unveils Shoes Knit Like Socks

The new Flyknit shoe was the product of four years of R&D, which yielded new machines for a fabrication technique that never existed before.

When most of us think about what we want in a shoe, a sock probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. Sure it has comfort, but what about stability? And how about some support?

Nike is filling in those blanks with its newest line, Nike Flyknit, which will make its big splash in the Olympics. Four years in the making, Flyknit is the product of an entirely new shoe-making process that can produce a single, lightweight knit upper (tongue included). The resulting intricate patchwork of yarn, cables, and fabric boasts a heretofore unseen look and feel.

Week 7 - 34.91 miles
A good week.  I managed to run the almost 35 miles in 5 days.  On Friday I ran 12.7 miles and passed the 200 mile mark for the year.  Another goal down for the year.  I look to take down the 250 mile mark in the next couple weeks.  On top of the running I went to a couple yoga classes and a strength training class.  The yoga really helped me to feel stretched.  I feel better after this week than I have after some of my past weeks.  I hope all of you are doing as well with your goals for the year.  You are all keeping me motivated and wish you all the best.  Keep Running!

Week 6 - 25.44 miles
This image was the motivation for the week.  My wife had never ran a 5k and I hadn’t ran one in over 15 years.  On Saturday that changed and it got me so excited to continue reaching for the goals I set for myself this year.  We pushed ourselves to our best this weekend and no matter how slow we felt we were going we keep going and didn’t stop. First goal - 5k complete.  Next goal is the 10k which we signed up for the Bolder Boulder in CO. and we can’t wait.  Keep Running!
