Thanksgiving Point Half Marathon tomorrow morning!

Tomorrow morning at 7am we get to see if all the hard work and training has paid off.  We went and picked up our packets todays and we are ready to get running.  I’m so excited to run my first half marathon.  I have ran a couple in training but tomorrow is when it counts.  Good luck to everyone who is running a race tomorrow.  Keep Running!

Week 12 - 41.3 miles

Well after the achilles injury set back I was able to run again once I purchased a new pair of NIKE running shoes.  I call it an injury only because it cause me not to be able to train or almost a week.  So far the news shoes are working much better.  I will keep you updated.  I did over do it a little and will need to pull back a little this week.  I have to remember that I am going for the long term goal not a short term goal.  I have posted this pic before but I thought it was very fitting for this week.  Anyway I love reading all of your blogs and I appreciate the motivation that it brings me.  Good luck with your goals this week and Keep Running!

Week 11 - 11.52 miles
First my apologies for being so late at posting.  Second please do not be offended if you are a huge Mizuno fan.  This was a hard week and it was because of a new pair of Mizuno.  I purchased a pair of Mizuno Wave Nexus 5 based on a recommendation of a salesman at my local running store and by how good they felt in the store.  After my first couple runs I noticed a tightness in my calves and achilles.  I thought I just needed to get used to these shoes.  I was doing what I was suppose to be doing and breaking them in slowly and not using them everyday.  On my third run with these shoes which was a seven mile run they caused an injury to my achilles.  I was unable to run the rest of the week.  I thought I was going to be out for much longer but I was able to start running again in week 12.  I guess Mizuno running shoes don’t work for me and I am suppose to stay a NIKE runner.  Hope your training was better than mine in week 11.  Keep Running!

27.17 miles in three days.  I was traveling this week which made it hard to run.  Well I let my traveling interfere with my training.  I feel like it set me back.  Don’t stop, Keep Running!

February 2012 - 136.32 miles

February was a good month.  I ran my first 5k since high school (which was a very long time ago) and placed 3rd in my age division.  I registered for my first 10k and half marathon.  I was able to stay relatively healthy this month and injury free.  I am a little disappointed because I came up just .75 of a mile short of hitting 250 miles for the year.  Oh well that will happen tomorrow.  Also I weighed in today and I have lost 13 pounds since January 1st. :)  I hope March is half as good as February…Keep Running!

Registered for the Bolder Boulder 10k today.  The Bolder Boulder will take place on Memorial Day the 28th of May in Boulder CO. I’m pretty stoked about this.

Not a bad week but I was only able to run four days.  I need to do better this week and my goal is to get in six days of running.  I feel I need to step it up a little as I may be running a half marathon in April.  The original plan was to run a 10k first but I may be changing it up a little to do a half marathon in April, 10k in May, and another half in July.  Hmmm?  Whether your a gazelle or a lion just Keep Running!
