Coldest temperature during a run so far, 33 degrees. It was an interesting to run through the neighborhoods and see all the damage that was caused by the storm. We still have some neighborhoods without power. I was feeling a little sluggish today. I don’t know if it was because I didn’t run yesterday or all the hard work removing the downed trees? Oh well either way I was able to get in at least 7 miles. Total 7.32 miles in 1hr 4min pace of 8min 44sec.
It was nice to run outside again this week. They say a big storm is rolling in tonight so I’m not sure when the next time I will be able to run outside. It was only 37 degrees but it felt good once I got a mile or two into the run. I couldn’t find my gloves today so I just bundled my hands into the sleeves of my shirt and I was good to go. I got a little bit closer to my year end goal. I was able to go 7.43 miles in an hour and four minutes. A bit of advice, if you set a goal work on it all year. It’s tough to try to make it up in the last month. During my run I started thinking about what my goals would be for next year. Still not sure what I will do but it will probably include a couple 10k’s, a half marathon and finish the year out with a marathon. Is that too aggressive?
Tim Tebow responds to Jake Plummer's comments on his faith
This story is a week old but I just had to post it. I’m a big Tebow fan and have been since he was with Florida. If you believe in something you should be proud of it and not be afraid to stand up for what you believe.
A day after former Broncos QB Jake Plummer said in a radio interview that he wished the man currently taking the snaps in Denver, Tim Tebow, would curb his references to Jesus Christ and his faith, Tebow responded. “If you’re married, and you have a wife, and you really love your wife, is it good enough to only say to your wife ‘I love her’ the day you get married? Or should you tell her every single day when you wake up and every opportunity?
"And that’s how I feel about my relationship with Jesus Christ is that it is the most important thing in my life. So any time I get an opportunity to tell him that I love him or given an opportunity to shout him out on national TV, I’m gonna take that opportunity. And so I look at it as a relationship that I have with him that I want to give him the honor and glory anytime I have the opportunity. And then right after I give him the honor and glory, I always try to give my teammates the honor and glory.
"And that’s how it works because Christ comes first in my life, and then my family, and then my teammates. I respect Jake’s opinion, and I really appreciate his compliment of calling me a winner. But I feel like anytime I get the opportunity to give the Lord some praise, he is due for it."
Plummer had this to say Monday on XTRA Sports 910 in Phoenix: "Tebow, regardless of whether I wish he’d just shut up after a game and go hug his teammates, I think he’s a winner and I respect that about him. I think that when he accepts the fact that we know that he loves Jesus Christ, then I think I’ll like him a little better. I don’t hate him because of that, I just would rather not have to hear that every single time he takes a good snap or makes a good handoff. "Like you know, I understand dude where you’re coming from … but he is a baller."
Today I started out with a bicep workout. It probably wasn’t the best of workouts and if anyone has suggestions please feel free to let me in on your secrets. I followed this up with a 4.62 mile run on the treadmill. I did it in 42 minutes with a pace just over nine minutes. I don’t know about the rest of you but I get bored really quick on the treadmill. I have problems keeping focus as it is but running on the treadmill this morning was brutal. I wish everyone a good day, work hard and don’t give up.
I made my 10k goal for today. Today was nice. It was a bit cool(36 degrees) but I had a good warm outer layer and gloves. About mile four I didn’t think that I was going to make six miles. Then when I made six i was feeling pretty good and thought I would push it and do seven. Total of 7.06 miles in 1hr 2min 8:43 pace. Not too bad. If I can keep this up I will make my goal.
Earlier in the year when I was running consistently I set a goal to run 365 miles in 2011. So far this year I have ran a total of 242.53 miles. If I take one day off a week as a rest day I will have 30 days left to complete this goal. This means that I must run a minimum of 4.1 miles a day. I think this is possible and I am going to go after this goal. I will keep you updated with my daily training log page. Check back to see if I accomplish this goal.
